I had this whole piece planned out for my first post back after a bit of an extended summer break, a thought that I have been ruminating on all summer. But no matter how long I stared at the blinking cursor on the computer screen, I just could not get it to come together. So I will not make you read through the rambling thoughts of a madwoman quite yet. Some pieces need more ruminating than others.
Instead I offer you a lengther bouncing around my brain section since it is precisely all of these things taking up space in my head that are preventing me from successfully writing a newsletter post.
Could also be the fact that the thing I’ve been working towards for the last two and half years … aka moving out of my parents house is finally happening. More on that later.
Want an end of summer thriller? Read this. Want to learn some American history through the lens of enegmatic religious movements, extremist fringe grouups, and other cults ? Read this. Want to feel eerily unsettled (and in my case, love it)? Read this. Want my favorite Austen? Read this. Want a fascinating true story? Read this.
Anatomy of a Famine*: How Gaza Has Starved (*an avoidable famine)
Whoa. This story is nuts.
Single handedly saving the award show.
This is not the future that was fortold to me when I was younger.
Don’t tempt me with a good time.
Been listening to this on repeat.
Watch this if you want to be distracted. Watch this if you want to laugh, then cry, and then laugh while you cry. Watch this because it’s perfect. Watch this because I’ve waited three years for season two, so it better be worth it.
Sometimes when I’ve stressed I zone out to this.
